Purchases & Returns
What is your return policy?
We accept returns within 30 days of purchase, provided items are unused and in their original condition. Custom-fitted items are non-refundable. There is a 10% restocking fee on all online orders. Read our full policies here.
Do you offer warranties on your products?
Yes, most of our products come with manufacturer warranties. Contact us for specific details regarding your purchase.

General Store Questions
What products do you sell?
In-store, we carry a wide selection of skis, boots, bindings, poles, helmets, gloves, goggles, wax, bags, boot dryers, and tuning tools. Our online store sells a selection of bindings, skis, and CalSkiCo merch.
What brands do you carry?
We stock top brands, including Armada, Atomic, Black Diamond, Blizzard, Dalbello, Elan, Fischer, Head, K2, Kästle, Lange, Nordica, Phaenom, Salomon, Stöckli, Tecnica, Völkl, and lots more. Come see us and check them out for yourself!
Do you have touring and backcountry gear
We currently carry hybrid ski equipment designed for skiers looking to explore backcountry terrain. We do not sell “true” touring gear at this time.
Do you sell snowboards?
At this time, we are a ski-only shop. However, who knows what the future holds!
Do you sell used or demo equipment?
We occasionally sell used equipment during our Fall Parking Lot Sale, held in late August or early September. Follow our blog and check our socials to be sure you don’t miss it!
Do you take in used equipment?
No, but we can help you find ways to repurpose or dispose of old equipment responsibly. Contact us to learn more.
Do you sell kids’ equipment?
We offer accessories for children, such as gloves, goggles, and helmets. While we don’t sell kids’ skis, we have a great rental selection, including seasonal rentals. Learn more about our Junior Rentals here.

Bootfitting
Do I need an appointment for bootfitting?
Yes, bootfitting is by appointment only. Walk-ins are not accepted at this time. But it’s easy to book your appointment online!
How long does a bootfitting take?
Most bootfittings take about 2.5 hours, and your boots will typically be ready the same day. In rare cases, additional modifications may require more time. Learn more about our bootfitting process here.
Do I need to purchase boots from California Ski Company to get fitted?
Not at all! But our one-year Comfort Guarantee is only offered on boots purchased from us.
What if I’m not satisfied with my bootfit?
We offer a one-year boot Comfort Guarantee, allowing for free adjustments on boots purchased from us. If the fit is still not right, we’ll exchange the boots for a pair that works better.
What happens with my appointment deposit?
We charge a $50 deposit when you reserve your boot fitting appointment and apply it as a credit toward your total boot fitting fee at checkout. Learn more about bootfitting appointments here.
What if I miss or cancel my appointment?
Appointments canceled more than 24 hours in advance will receive a full refund. Within 24 hours, you may reschedule your appointment and we’ll apply your deposit to your new appointment time. See full details here.
Rentals
Do I need an appointment for rentals?
Rental appointments are not required, but strongly encouraged during peak season. You can easily book your appointment online.
Do you only rent skis?
We rent skis, snowshoes, and cross-country skis for adults and kids. Check out our packages and pricing here.
Online Orders
Do you ship nationwide?
Yes. We ship throughout the United States. Orders over $100 qualify for free shipping. Orders under $100 ship at a flat rate, calculated at checkout.
How long does processing take?
Most in-stock orders ship within 1 to 2 business days. During peak winter periods, please allow a little extra time.
Can I pick up my order in store?
Yes. Choose local pickup at checkout and we will notify you when your order is ready at our Berkeley shop.
Do you offer same day pickup?
If the item is in stock and the order is placed early in the day, we often can prepare it for same day pickup. Call the shop to confirm availability.
How do I know if an item is in stock?
Inventory is updated regularly online. If an item is low in stock or special order, we will contact you with an update.
Can I change or cancel my order?
Contact us as soon as possible. If the order has not shipped, we will do our best to make changes or cancel it.
What is your return policy for online orders?
Unused items in original packaging can be returned within 30 days of delivery. Skis that have been mounted or used may not be eligible for return. Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer unless the item arrived damaged or incorrect. A 10% restocking fee applies to eligible returns.
How do I start a return?
Email [email protected] with your original name and order number. Our team will reply with next steps and return instructions.
Do you price match?
We focus on expert service, curated product, and support before and after the sale. Contact us if you have a specific pricing question and we will do our best to help.
Can you mount bindings before shipping?
Yes. We can mount bindings prior to shipping. You must provide accurate boot sole length and skier information during checkout or by contacting the shop. Mounted skis are final sale.
Do you tune skis before shipping?
All skis are inspected before they leave the shop. Optional wax and tune services can be added to your order.
What if I need help choosing gear?
Our team of skiers can help with sizing, fit, and model recommendations. Call, email, or message us and we will guide you to the right setup.
How do I track my order?
Once your order ships, you will receive a tracking number by email.
Do you ship internationally?
At this time we primarily ship within the United States. Contact us for special international requests.
What if my order arrives damaged or incorrect?
All skis are inspected before they leave the shop. Optional wax and tune services can be added to your order.

Your skier type is determined by an algorithm based on your age, height, weight, ability level, and boot length.

We do not sell lift tickets directly, but we offer free discount vouchers for Palisades Tahoe. Stop by the shop to pick one up!
